Saul

Went to Saul last night.. I have not looked but, i am sure its been reviewed a lot.. I was really impressed with the place. First it was cozy. It was quiet, dark, warm, and spacious.

They promptly served us an amuse of a creamy white bean soup. With buttery little croutons floating in it. My friend and I each ordered an app and then ended up splitting a third one. I had the potato, bacon and onion tart with a salad.. Really great tarte, there was plenty of perfectly cooked cubes of bacon. We then split the skate wing. Another great dish.

For dinner i had the wild striped bass. It was fantastic! The skin was perfectly crispy. I found myself cleaning my plate with a piece of bread at the end of my meal. The night before i dined at Blue Hill and would rank this dish among the best i had.

I live in Manhattan and am certainly looking forward to seeing my friend in Brooklyn soon.
