Often when I get BBQ duck from a butcher or restaurant, it comes with a sauce or two. One type is usually in a small container filled with a clear/yellowish fluid that has a gelatineous texture. I can't quite put my finger on the taste--it seems vaguely gingerish. I've had the same sauce in various places from San Francisco to Toronto.
I'd like to reproduce it. Does anyone know what is in it? Or what it is called?
