Satisfying My Marrowbone Fix

Michele Cindy | Oct 18, 200508:36 AM

A long time ago, there was a discussion on marrowbones. Before Sunday, I had only used them in soups. On Sunday I had a craving for them, but did not want to cook a soup. I remembered one of the recipes from the marrowbone thread. I sprinkled the bones with coarse salt, baked them in a 425 oven for about 35 minutes. They were SO SO GOOD!!! I chewed them up like a puppy eating his 1st bone.
I remembered some recs. for putting the marrow on toast, but that would have been blasphemous. I just can't see any other way of eating them (except puppy style, direct from soup). Does anyone do anything with the fat that liquefied, and dripped off of them?
