Sapphire Indian Cuisine, Boca Raton

NJ 'hound here, and I had to post to let you know that there's some VERY good Indian available in an upscale setting in Boca...I was there last week with some friends of the family who live in the neighborhood and had been hearing good things. My folks and I love Indian food but our friends were virgins, and oh boy, did we have fun! Suffice it to say that any restaurant with a Goat and Lamb section on the menu has my attention. :-)

For apps, the five of us shared:
-Lasooni Gobi (cauliflower with chili flakes & garlic tomato Chutney)
-Aloo Papdi Chaat (Wheat crisps, potatoes and chick peas in a yogurt, mint & tamarind sauce)
-Aloo Tikkis (Spicy Potato cakes served with mint & tamarind sauce)--we dubbed these Indian latkes. :-)
I'd like to have all 3 again; fantastic flavors--and our friends the virgins loved them as well.

For entrees, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, which is my go-to dish to try in a new Indian place, and Gosht Jardaloo (Lamb with a medley of dry apricots & stew potatoes)for our friends.

My dad had Patiala Shahi Goat (Marinated goat, onions, yogurt and spices), I had Gosht Dum Pasanda (Marinated lamb in a yogurt almond sauce that I was ready to drink with a straw) and mom had Lamb Sashlik
(Lamb kabob from the tandoor). While I didn't get to try all of the dishes, the Chicken Tikka Masala was wonderful, and everyone was very happy.

We shared Kulfi for dessert and left with full bellies and grins on our faces...I know the next time I'm in FL that we'll be going back--that's for sure!
