San Mateo & Redwood City area Quests & Questions

PolarBear | Apr 23, 200602:32 PM

Will be at College of San Mateo Tues-Wed, leaving tomorrow mid-morning and hoping to lunch on a lobster roll at OPLS. Their website (linked below) says they're open 11-3 on Mondays but I've seen several reports that they're closed Sun-Mon. I can call from the road, just hoping someone knows so I can implement plan B, if need be.

Plan B: Steamed eggs with clams (steamed egg custard) at Parc Hong Kong in Sunnyvale (still drooling over the pic Carb Lover posted), my searches only bring up PHK in the City, are they open Mon.? Other option is Su Hong in Palo Alto for the Xio Long Bao.

Dinner Mon. at Silver House in San Mateo for the razor clams. Dinner Tues at OPLS, do they accept group resos in case some colleagues want to join me?

May be free for lunch on Wed. Anything exciting that is close by CSM? I've got La Michoacana and La Pinata on the radar for pupusas as added backup for Monday, but wonder wonder if either is close enough for a 1 hour break?

We may not wrap up until 4:30 on Wed in which case I'm thinking it would be wise to stick around the SM/RWC area for dinner until traffic dies down, or head southbound on 280/85 to someplace before Hwy 101. I'm really hoping to try XLB, but would be happy with any unique, unusual type offerings. TIA for any help on this short notice.
