San Gennaro and the Wine Challenge

Emme | Feb 29, 2004 02:18 PM

Advertised on the radio today, San Gennaro Cafe offers dinner for two for a year, if you can find a restaurant that has more affordable wines on their wine list than they do. San Gennaro claims that they sell over 50 different bottles of wine for 12 dollars or less. Places like Valentino have massive wine lists, but don't tout their reasonability necessarily. Can anyone think of a restaurant, so that we all can tromp in at different times and claim our dinners for the next year?

On a side note, is this place any good? I have an old friend who just loves it, but I don't know if it's because the food is good, or because she and her family went there when she was growing up and it has fond memories for her. If it's good, what to order?
