amuse: rice balls & prosciutto san daniele, ok, nothing special.
rw first course: lasagne. nice thin pasta, many layers. sauce was tasty, but tiny meatballs were only average. not the best and not the worst.
rw main course: sea bass served with tomato, zucchini, potato. terrible. fish was mushy (overcooked?) and tasted completely unseasoned. accompaniments were bland and uninteresting.
additional pasta course (served with the sea bass): sea urchin ravioli. we were excited about this one but where was the sea urchin? it turned out that when you cut the ravioli in half and took out the sea urchins, you could taste them. otherwise they were totally overwhelmed by the pasta and sauce (parsley, roasted cherry tomatoes). the sauce itself was good but would have been better with classic ricotta or other filling.
rw dessert: chocolate torte with vanilla and strawberry sauce. tasty but nothing special. also there were additional cookies offered.
wines offered by the glass were underwhelming.
service was friendly and amiable.
quite disappointing considering recent positive press.
