I'm going to be at UCSD for a few days, and just in case I can sneak away from the scientific meeting to grab some chow, I was wondering what the SD chowhounds consider exceptional in SD and would be harder to score in Boston or SF.
My naive impression is that I should zero in on the mexican places. Is that true? Or are there other cuisines that are unique or exceptional to SD that I should go for?
I did a bit of browsing beforehand and the following places caught my eye. Any updates or opinions?
Persian ice crem at Aria International Market
Mexican street food at Cuatro Milpas, El Porvenir or El Pescador.
Thanks in advance. If I do manage to sneak out and eat, I'll promise to post.
