There is a tiny and wonderful Finnish-and-European restaurant called House Piccolo on this island, a short(35 minute)ferry ride from the Victoria area. I've tried the Ostrich (like beef) and a super Wiener Schnitzel, crisp and delicious. The wine list is superb. All a bit pricey by Canadian standards, but within reach, unlike Salt Spring's Relais, Hastings House (which I hear is excellent but beyond my budget).
Piccolo is so small reservations are mandatory.
