Salt and Pepper Shrimp

I think that I've finally gotten the preparation of the shrimp itself down (salt, tapioca starch, szechuan pepper), but in restaurants, there's always some sort of a light sauce that goes along with the shrimp over the lettuce. Usually, it is a very light clear/brown sauce (usually not that much of it), containing little bits of pepper, garlic, etc. Any idea how to make that?
