Saffron- don't bother!

We had supper at this persian restaurant at the corner of ste-catherine and st-matthieu. They serve cold rubbery pita with butter to start with! Although I liked the persian soup (ashte reshte?), the roasted eggplant dip was very bland and the more I had it, the less it went down. As a main meal, we had the filet mignon brochette and the boneless chicken brochette; the meats were tender and tasty but their portions as well as those of the accompanying jasmine rice were not generous considering $15/plate. There is much better (and more) persian food (well-spiced and fragrant) at Tehran and Byblos for less money. Lastly, although the waiters were friendly, they were inattentive (even though the place was empty) and forgot to ask us for drink orders, dessert, refills on water, etc and took forever to bring our bill. This was a one time visit for sure.
