Saddle Peak Lodge review

4 of us had dinner at Saddle Peak Lodge Saturday night. We arrived at 6:30 and were seated in the upstairs room that seemed to be a Library. The lodge is the real deal old world hunting lodge, not a Disney recreation. Darin was our server and he could not have been more helpful. A couple glasses of wine and a couple cocktails were ordered. The Petite Syrah and the Cab. were excellent with a slight nod toward the Syrah. I had the Foie Gras app. , one ordered the Fresh Figs with Bleu Cheese and Basalmic, one a green salad and one an Heirloom Tomato with Buffala Mozarella. Everything must have been excellent as no one shared. Entrees were Elk, Venison, Buffalo and Rissoto for the Veggie person. Each was perfectly tender and excellent flavor. We ordered the dessert sampler...which was 4 desserts in fairly large portions and a huge pile of fresh assorted berries. The best dessert was the Chocolate Creme Brule and a close second was the Bread Pudding. Excellent end to the meal. Dinner was a bit over $100.00 per person out the door. Service is not rushed here at all. We left 4 hours later at 10:30. It will not be a regular stop but it will be an evening to remember. Appetizers were $15-20.00 and entrees were all about $40.00. The drive is also quite beautiful which is why a 6:30 reservation is a good idea.
