Hi, I am really getting into Restaurant Week this year . ..
Had lunch at Beacon yesterday:
--avoid the wierd african iced tea
--loved the mixed greens salad with marinated red onion, lots of perfect reggiano and mixed fresh herbs on top
--my friend like the red pepper soup
--chicken with mushroom and bread sort of a deconstructed stuffing was so-so. It was fragrent and tasty with the "10-herbs" but 2 gourmet mushrooms and 3 crouton sized peices of bread was lame as a an accompaniment.
--my friend LOVED the veggie risotto and it was quite good... a rainbow of tender veggies in creamy risotto...mmmm
--we both had the trio of sorbets: passion fruit, raspberry and blueberry, topped with strabs, raspberries and blueberries. Homey and good.
Tonight I go to the Sea Grill at Rock Center for dinner and next week it's lunch at Vong and at Remi. Tried for Aquavit but they are booked for lunch except at 11:45 and 2:30 so am going to try Remi after many years. I also haven't been to Vong in 3 years but hope it's still good. I work in the area so it's just fun to do instead of the usual salad bars.
Any recs on dishes for Sea Grill, Vong or Remi would be appreciated!
