Rustic Canyon Review

We had a great time, with out any problems or issues. We were 30 min late and our table was ready. The hostess and waitress were very sweet and helpful. The food was great and the wine was good. We had a booth which was quieter, so the noise was not an issue, but our table was somewhat cramped.

This is a gourmet-ish restaurant in pricey santa moncia so you need to expect an expensive outing. 4 of us spent $300 out the door, which is typical on the west side for an evening out. We spent 2 hours at our table and there was not a word or hint of impatience at us despite a huge waiting throng in the bar area.

Overall it was very nice, only diminished in that the room is somewhat small and loud and not highly comfortable for a fine dining experience.

We had salad with beets, halibut, lamb chops, all very good. Side of string beans was not needed. Mac and cheeses was terrible, really mac and butter for $10. Desert of rocky road bread pudding was very good, a bit underwhelming after the build up. Two Wines by the glass were good, not great.

We had a fine time. I do recommend it. Our friends were on their second visit ( and were warmly welcomed back). It was our first, I'm not sure if I'd go back. It was convenient for us but there are many other choices on the west side.
