Russian Dried Fruit Strudel

When I was young, my mother used to make excursions to Manhattan for special occasions to buy dried fruit strudel at Mrs. Altman's strudel shop on 34th St. The last time I remember having this delicious pastry was more than 30 years ago. If I remember correctly, the strudel was no more than maybe 1" to 1-1/2" around, filled with a mixture of chopped nuts and different dried fruits (prunes, apricots, raisins, cherries). Does anyone know of any place selling something comparable? If so, who/where?
