Last week we went to Roy's Rest. which boasts Hawaiian Fusion cuisine. Even though it's a chain, the decor seemed tasteful and it looked convincing.
We made reservations a week ahead and then called to confirm only to find out that they didn't have the reservation. We should have left it at that and gone elsewhere. The food was mediocre beyond belief. Szechuan ribs came burned, a crabmeat makki was strictly salad bar and the main courses were even worse. Their signature dish, Mahi mahi in lobster butter sauce was so bland in made us cranky and the polenta encrusted scallops had no polenta. Has anyone had any experiences at this place? We are huge fans of asian fusion but not the Iowa variety.
Roy's should go back to the Malls.
