Rosamunde burger visit

chowhoundX | Feb 12, 200204:00 PM

Today I sampled a Rosamunde burger, which I would have to say was the most satisfying burger I've had since the ones at Louie's Lunch (joint in New Haven, CT, that claims to have invented the Hamburg Sandwich -- but that's another story). Thick but not too thick, perfectly grilled, and those same grilled onions they serve with the sausages.

I asked why Tuesday. The guy said it's in honor of Wimpy, who would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Rosamunde makes you pay today for a hamburger today, but at $4 I'm okay without the float.

I asked if they would be expanding the hamburger schedule, and the guy seemed a little peeved. "If we did hamburgers every day I'd probably quit," he said, only half kidding. "We're a sausage grill."
