I posted a request for information about Pioneer some time back in the fall. Thanks to all of you who provided information. Due to serveral recommendations, I picked New Roots Organics. Pike Place Mkt CSA sounded the best, but the front-end payment for something I wasn't certain about didn't seem like the best bet.

So, we got our first bin today & it was BEAUTIFUL. A balanced mix of fruits and vegs and with one leetle exception (one cracked, not so healthy onion), gorgeous specimens. Strawberries, bananas, avocados, mango, blood oranges and apples on the fruit side. Artichokes, chard, spinach, butter lettuce, broccoli, potatoes, tomatoes, and onions on the veg side. I can't wait to start cooking and eating. The only ones I have doubts about are the tomatoes, but it's still the cardboard tomato time of year....

Oh, and on the money side, I think it's a wash (I'd pay about the same at PCC). On the quality side thought, this stuff looks glorious. The strawberries smell like strawberries. And I have enough chard to make soup for 10.

If anyone wants to know how the produce is, let me know & I'll put up another post later in the week.
