I'd like to request some feedback on a 5 day trip to Rome, Monday to Friday with Friday being a lunch only, all the rest dinners.
My companion and I are adventurous foodies, loving novel cuisines and techniques.
We are adventurous and especially fan of tasting menus, fine dining, multi-hour dining experiences, special, ethnic cuisines, variety, local fare and things we do not get to experience as much back home (Belgium). Price is not an issue, as we are willing to splurge for the trip.
In that light, I've done a lot of research and was thinking of the following itinerary and like some feedback.
Would you do things in a different order or recommend different restaurants or style? Please feel free to advise!
Monday -- ARMANDO AL PANTHEON --> Start of with a non-tasting menu option classic Italian to get the roman vibes going
Tuesday -- La Pergola --> Go extreme fine dining, Italian but at highest level
Wednesday -- Mesob --> Take a break from the Italian onslaught with some ethnic Ethiopian non-tasting menu kitchen
Thursday -- Still very much unsure. Options are Antico Arco, Glass Hostaria, Metamorfosi, Giulio Terrinoni, Imago, L'Arcangelo, All'Oro, Marzapane, Il Convivio Troiani...
Friday -- Either Pizzeria Emma for a gourmet pizza experience or Checchino dal 1887. If we'd go Emma, I'd potentially do Checchino dal 1887 as a classic Italian experience on Thursday.
What do you think?
