As I just reviewed Lucques, I came to the realization that for the first time, the loudness in a restaurant was a factor in the hindrance to my enjoyment of an evening. I've heard Angelini Osteria can be deafening as well. What about Spago, Valentino, Josie, Sona, Grace, etc? I'd like to see a list of people's experiences solely based on environment in the high end spots. Volume level, table spacing, lighting, decorating, music...ambience! I do consider myself a 'hound in all respects and food does come first (for 6 months I was driving 45 minutes pretty regularly to hit up the taco trucks in east L.A. at 2 a.m...) but I'm realizing that when I put on the dog I think I'd like to really start taking environment into consideration.
