Ok, I grew up remembering brussel sprouts as tiny cabbages that smelled when boiled, ick! As an adult I make roasted brussel sprouts, everyone that has tried them loves them now, even those like me who hated them! Make sure you buy ones in season, clean them up, cut into half or fourths depending on the size, preheat the over to 375, put all pieces into baking dish, I use pyrex. Take real better, cut into pieces & just put on top, a bit of salt for flavor, not too much. Make sure the pan isn't too full with brussel sprouts, put into oven. Set times for 45 minutes BUT check & stir each 15 minutes, the first time add a bit more butter, not too much, just enough.I've played with the amounts each time. If you like crispier pieces let it cook a little longer, the most I have cooked them is 1 hr. They are wonderful!
I also do red potato, yams/sweet potato, banana squash, carrots & any hearty root veggies like this too, just wonderful!
