At there last night. Very small gothic setting, 10 mirrors in the tiny bathroom were just plain odd. Upon arrival, my accomplice was already seated at the bar with a nearly empty glass of Bass. Her 2nd or 3rd I think. I sat down at a just vacated seat beside her and waited a full 15 minutes before the bartender would even give me a second glance. Guiness in hand, we perused the menus and specials. For an appetizer we ordered the veggie chutney dish with "naan". The "naan" was a piece of cut up peta bread and there was a dollop of mango chutnet on this vegetable stew type dish. Although the stew was quite tasty, it wasn't what I had expected. But it went well with my 2nd Guiness. We both ordered the steak tip sub - served with lettuce, tomato, red onion and boursin. Delicious! I ate the sandwich with my 4th (where did that third go?) Guiness and even the frozen fries were passable - very thin crunchy shoestring fries. So, all in all, not a bad night. Capped off the night w/ a Knob Creek manhattan at The Goodlife then went home to sleep off the better end of a beginning drunk.
