Ringo - Good Cheap Sushi

David Chu | Feb 13, 200408:49 PM

I tried this place on the suggesstion of a friend, and it turned out to be a surpisingly good and inexpensive sushi place. I tried tuna, white tuna, salmon, marlin, yellowtail, salmon roe, and smelt roe for nigiri; our group also split a few random rolls, like a spider roll, black dragon (eel with salmon skin), etc.

Out of the nigiri, the only piece that was not particularly good was the ikura (the briny flavor was somewhat dull). Everything else was fresh, well prepared and cheap - most pieces were $1.25 or $1.75. I am not really a roll fan, but the black dragon was undeniably delectable.

In addition, the place is BYOB (and there is a liquor store right next door, even though the only Japanese brand they carry is Sapporo). All in all, a place I will definitely return to.
