Went to RIB on the West Side Highway. It's not the pinacle of BBQ, but I thought it was quite good, and nice place to hang out in. The help is really cordial, and the kitchen is on their game (as opposed to a joint like Virgil's where it's running on automatic and tastes like it). My friend and I each had the pulled pork sandwich. Deep smoky taste, and a variety of textures from the crisping of the meat and the grill-toasting on the bun. There's a mustard sauce, a standard vinegar, and chow-chow, all delicious. We had a crawfish appetizer, which was small but excellent for what there was of it. Lemonade was fine too, sweet and a little tangy -- I can't stand unsweetened lemonade where you have to dump sugar in it to make it drinkable. We shared a Red Velvet Cake that was different -- as dense as a brownie. We liked it, though my friend said the Cakeman Raven version is a notch better. Overall a place I'd visit again, but not super-cheap -- $50 for two, no liquor.
