I was in town this weekend from Boston looking for an apartment--I'm moving to Chicago next month. I was staying with a friend and had breakfast two days in a row at Orange (the one on Harrison)...great place!! Funky decor, really friendly staff, amazing breakfast...had an omelet with ham, cheese and leeks one day, and tiramisu pancakes the next...very inventive and delish. And the fresh squeezed juice is also wonderful.

Sat. night had dinner at Boka, sat at the bar...found the restaurant randomly on metromix.com. Great place, the bartender was very good and very nice...started with asparagus salad (with parmesan and egg on top) and then had a tender, well-cooked porkchop, the fig on the side made the dish. Also great chocolate terrine with caramel pot de creme for dessert if you want something sweet. The restaurant seemed like a good mix of a neighborhood place and also more of a "destination" place.

I'm excited to move here and go to lots of new restaurants :-)
