thanks to chowhound recommendations, we dined at the following restaurants:
lotus of siam: I knew we were far from this restaurant but the $40 in cab rides were well worth it. (we were at the mandalay bay)
Unfortunately we were only two people eating, so we couldnt order as much as we wanted.
We had a soup, the drunken noodles with seabass, the soft crab salad, and naturally the coconut icecream with the sticky rice.
Everything was fresh, full of flavor and SPICY (even though it was a 2 on their "spice scale". I would return, in a heartbeat.
RM seafood: we actually ate their twice but for very "lite" meals..i.e we each had a oyster shooter (for $5 this is excellent value), we split a huge bowl of clam chowder, and we split the ipswich clams that were slightly fried.
The soup deserves special mention - the huge clams, the perfectly cut vegetables, the base that wasnt too starchy, or too creamy, ..just perfect.
The ipswich clams were a treat, seeing as we are from Canada!!!
L'atelier: was indeed the highlight of the trip!! We had the seven course tasting menu.
The flavors, the execution, the presentation...you name it....everything was perfect!!
we loved every second.
Naturally the service was top-rate and naturally we will return on our next trip to vegas.
We had reservations to go to nobhill...(for the lobster pot pie) but they called us to inform us that the restaurant was booked by a large private party. Oh well.
Thanks again, for all the recommendations.
