Review - Kim Kim Vietnamese at Hwy 6 and 290

Always in search of a good Vietnamese place near our house, my wife and I tried Kim Kim at Hwy 6 and 290 last night. Good food, but average prices - no bargain.

We had spring rolls with grilled pork. They were good, but a little on the small side. My wife had the Bo Luc Lac (grilled tender steak chunks with onion and tomato). VERY good, but the meat was not cooked rare as we are used to. It was VERY tender though. I had the Chan Chua Tom (Vietnamese sweet and sour shrimp soup). This was also very good, if a bit on the sweet side.

The menu had a LOT of Vietnamese selections that you don't see at the average Pho/Vietnamese sandwich shops, such as Muc Rang Moi (fried cuttlefish).

Our verdict: Not quite as good as the best Vietnamese places in the Bellaire/BW8 area, but DARN good for being ten minutes away from our house.
