My review of Boston Pizza

Chevre | Nov 24, 2005 03:30 PM

I had never been to Boston Pizza but when one opened near my office by the Airport I thought I would give it a try. I have been twice and the second time was worse than the first. Service is terrible and the food is mediocre. The first time I had pizza which is slightly above a chain's but much more expensive and not nearly as good as what I can get from a good local pizzaria (like Costa's on Roncesvalles). The salad was limp iceberg lettuce covered with gooey dressing. The second time it took 45 minutes for the appetizers to arrive (this was lunch) and then the mains came at all different times so that some of us were finished before the others even had their food. I decided to order the full rack of ribs with the idea I could take some home. They were the skimpiest things I ever saw. It was like someone cut a rack vertically down the middle. They were the size of my baby finger (I kid you not) with not much meat on them. If it wasn't for the fries I would have finished the meal hungry. I know it's a chain and not to expect much but for what you pay I don't understand the appeal. There are so many great bistros in Toronto that serve way better food at the same price.
