Review: Bar_One

After SummerWorks last night, went to dinner at Bar_One after strolling down Queen Street.

It was a very enjoyable dinner. He had the eggplant parmesan, and I went with the prix fixe.

He really liked his meal, and I really enjoyed mine. My salad was a romaine/tarragon/goat cheese/red and green grape assembly. The fresh tarragon mad the salad. The pasta I chose was a saffron angel hair with anchovies and eggplant. Very tasty, pasta cooked perfectly. The chocolate torte at the end was also tasty, and came with some sort of thin biscuit which I am guessing contained some kind of orange component (peel? flesh? not sure, but it was a nice nibble).

Finished off with coffee and espresso.

Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being cloying. I will definitely be returning.
