Many thanks to Hugh, joe, svL, The Dairy Queen, and Chicago Mike for your recommendations and comments.

I guess I could have been more cuisine specific although it's hard to narrow it down since I love every kind of food and SF has so much to offer.

We'll be staying in Napa for several days and I have reservations for Auberge du Soleil, Domaine Chandon and Bouchon; any comments on those would be appreciated. French Laundry is closed till Spring so thats that I guess. Nothing I can do about it except to say I look forward to tasting some really good dishes when Per Se opens in New York.

As for SF proper, the last time I was there, I visited an excellent restaurant but I have no memory of its name - it might have been Gary Danko.

I guess I just want to have very delicious food in SF. I want to sample SF's fine dining places (especially French and New American) but also would like to know which place to get the yummiest burrito, seafood, korean bbq and dim sum. Is Yank Sing good or overrated? What about a good chinese restaurant? Is La Taqueria the best or is there another hidden gem where burritos are concerned?

I know its a lot of questions but I'm truly looking forward to sampling everything!

Again, thanks all.
