Restaurant LuLu and Chaya Brasserie

debtslave | Oct 7, 200502:08 PM     12

Just found out that I'll be having group dinners at Restaurant LuLu and Chaya Brasserie on an upcoming trip to your lovely city. So of course the first thing I do is search the chowhound archives. Unfortunately, reviews on this board of both restaurants have been underwhelming. I hate to waste two meals in such a great city for food, so please help me make the best out of the situation.

What does each kitchen do well?
Any favorite dishes or cocktails?
Anything to be avoided?

Thank you all so much.
