Just got back and went to some great reasonably priced restaurants in Florence. One place we just happened on was Le Campane at Borgo La Croce,85/87r. We ordered a pizza Margherita, baked in a wood fired oven, an order of lasagne (huge and excellent) an order of gnocci, which was light as a feather in light tomato sauce (also excellent) and 1/2 L of house red wine and one tiramisu (also excellent). The bill came to 27 Euro! Another great one to go to that offers a fixed price 4 course dinner for 15 Euro is Club Paradiso at via Dell'Orto 24 r ( across the Arno river) First there is an antipasto of 3 things- ours had fabulous peccorino cheese slices, brushetta, and an artichoke spread on a thin slice of bread. Then you had several choices for the first course, one of us got the penne in meatsauce, another got linguine in tomato and pesto sauce and I ordered homemade vegetable soup-all were outstanding! There are several choices for the main course and it comes with a vegetable (which many don't offer with fixed price menus) I ordered a grilled chicken breast, which was moist and really, really tasty and fresh broccoli florets-cooked just right- done in light olive oil, garlic and hot pepper- delicious! For dessert there were several choices-homemade by the owner- we ordered chocolate charlotte and tiramisu both were excellent! They have an excellent house red wine which is additional. If you're in Florence and want something other than pasta/ pizza go to Baldovino at via San Giuseppe 22r ( a little past the Santa Croce church) and order the Italian hummous appetizer served with sesame bread and a salad. They have several to choose from. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with walnuts and grapes served with a spicy dressing. The salad, chicken and dressing were outstanding. Hope that anyone traveling to Florence checks these out and enjoys them as much as we did. Also, don't forget to get the gelato at Vivoli at via isola delle stinche,7- it's great!!
