Color me shocked and confused! My husband and I are planning our first trip to New York the week of June 12-17. After much perusing of the Chowhound message boards, I decided to make a reservation at Babbo for Monday, June 12. I didn't think it would be difficult to get a decent Monday night reservation a month in advance and was quite shocked when they offered me a 5:00 or 10:00 p.m. seating that evening. Now I'm concerned that we need to make reservations immediately for every night we're in town. Is this a normal procedure in New York? Is it impossible to walk in on a weeknight and be seated? This Midwesterner appreciates your insight!
