Reports on Michael Mina, Piperade in SF Exam's SF Eats! section

Myles | Jan 22, 200312:26 PM     2

In today's SF Eats section of the Examiner are some items of interest to this site:

1. David Narsai reports that Hirigoyen's "Piperade" restaurant (where 4 astute "Chowies" dined just before Xmas) is a runaway success (regardless of the DAT promotion), w/ people waiting at the bar for a table, past 9:00 pm on a Wednesday night. As I was one of those Chowhounds, I can indeed attest to the gastronomic pleasures and treasures of this place.

2. There is an interview w/ Michael Mina who at least has announced that his forthcoming venture will be called, what else? "Michael Mina, the menu will be heavily fish" (or fishily heavy, depending on your p.o.v.). Exact location undisclosed; but slated to open in October '03.

Lots of other food scene tidbits in the section.
