Never posted a report a report before, but feel compelled. Had dinner here last night -- fabulous. The room(s) and bar(s) are wonderfully designed (I was there after dark...need to go in daylight hours!). Dined with an older (70+) couple who were treating me for my birthday - they also found the food to be pleasing. If I have a negative, it would be regarding the noise level (it's a live space), but it would only concern me if I were dining with older (read -- hearing impaired!) people. I'd feel right at home...it's lively!
The food -- we ordered three 'street plates' (smaller, yet very generous portions -- I could go and dine on these alone and skip an entree); Chicken Passarinho (chicken in a spicy/garlic/scallion sauce); Artichoke Fritters; Rainbow Smelt Tempura (my personal fave - served with a slightly spicy dip). All were wonderful. For entrees we had; Brazilian Beef Tenderloin; Shrimp Baiana (similar to Thai - mild coconut taste); Feijoada (traditional stew w/ sausage, pork loin, ham, bacon served over rice). Again, all flavorful and served by an attentive staff.
All in all, a really great place -- I'm really encouraged for Shaker Square making it (sigh - I think this is try #4)...they certainly have some 'critical food mass' happening here with Fire, Sushi on the Square, Balaton and Luchita's. Sarava is a welcome addition; if you like Sergios (their first restaurant) on UCircle, you must go...this is certainly going to be their 'flagship'
