Report: Red 7 LA restaurant week

For lunch today I went to Red 7 for the $22 restaurant week prixe fixe menu.
First Course: I got the Hamachi salad. It was five thin slices of fish, seared around the edges, with small slices of pepper on top. These were on a bed of mixed vegetables, mostly sprouts. It all had a ponzu-like sauce on it. It was very good.
Second Course: I had the kobe burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were the best I've had. There very crunchy with the right amount of salt. They were not greasy at all. The burger its self was o.k. I could not tell a difference with the Kobe Beef (to be fair I ordered it well done and it came rare and was mushy in the middle). The sauces on it were very good.
Dessert: I got the Ovaltine bar. I did not really like it, but I think it was because I don't like milk chocolate very much. If you do, you will probably enjoy it. It was around nicely on the plate. The bar was in the middle, with whipped cream on top, and more chocolate with puffed rice underneath. There was another chocolate bar was off to the side. A small amount of gold powder was sprinkled around.
My waiter was very nice. There was a minimal wait for one item, so he gave us a free latte.
Overall recommended for restaurant week. I would be on the fence if going another time.
