Brief report - Casino El Camino, Moonshine

We were in Austin Saturday night after a trip through Luling and Lockhart to do the BBQ trail (I'll post that report on the TX board, though). Since we weren't hungry until late in the evening, we sampled the burgers at Casino El Camino. The Buffalo Burger (blue cheese and hot sauce) was excellent, although I didn't care for the fries (greasy and limp). Still, the burger was definitely worthy!

We stopped by Moonshine on Sunday morning prior to heading to Gruene to go toobing, and chowed down on the brunch buffet. Wonderful fresh mixed green salad, fresh and tasty melon, and the chicken fried steak fingers with chipotle cream gravy were standouts. I'm glad I didn't see those till the end, or I may have ended up eating more of them and less of the healthier stuff! At about $16 a person, plus $5 for a Mimosa, we thought the brunch at Moonshine was a good deal. Thanks, Austin hounds, for your recommendations!
