Firstly, thanks to all for your ideas.
After corning the brisket for six days I soaked the brisket in water for one day.
Used 8 quarts fresh cold water and brought brisket to a covered simmer, water temp at 197 to 200F for 4½ hours.
Results brisket was very tender but slightly washed out flavor. Next time Ill water soak for ½ a day.
