Replace Sesame in Spice Mix

Nadybl | Feb 2, 201706:30 PM

My son is allergic to sesame. So you could say it's fairly simple, when I encounter sesame, tahini or sesame oil in a recipe, I simply omit it.

But lately, we were interested in asian food, especially Japanese. We made dumpling ourself, sushi...

We are planning a Japanese diner and I bought everything I needed to make Shichimi Togarashi, planning to omit the sesame seeds. But then I started to wonder...

I know I can't replace the sesame. But would there be another ingredient who could give the same kind of taste or feel to the mix?
