Anybody remember this sushi bar in Silver Lake from mid-80s?

I lived in Silver Lake from '84 to '87 and used to frequent this wonderful, quite inexpensive sushi bar on Sunset Blvd. and (I think) where it crosses Fountain--a block or so east of where Sunset and Hollywood cross at Hillhurst if I remember right. (I have not been back to the neighborhood in years so my geography might be hazy). I think the name was "Miyagi" or "Miyage", which I believe was the owner's nickname. He was a wonderful sushi man, had been in L.A. quite a long time, and, at least during the day, he was usually there by himself, so I got to talk to him a lot--he gave me his recipe for ponzu sauce even. I think he left that location shortly after I moved away in '88 or maybe even before and I lost track of him. I think he started out in the '70s at that well known sushi bar on Beverly (you sushi experts all know the name--it might have the best place in town at that time). Anyway, if anybody knows what happened to "Miyagi" and if he has a restaurant now, I would be grateful. He used to make his own special roll with chiso leaves and mixed fish that was so gorgeous--it always looked to me like sort of a mini zen garden with an exquisite, unusual shiso-influenced taste. I've never seen or tasted the same thing anywhere else.
