I have been searching the old posts, and searching Amazon.....to no avail.
I remember in the past year ( I think ) someone here recommended a memoir about, perhaps, a Persian grandmother's cooking, or middle eastern food memories, something like that...woman author. Not much to go on, I know. It sounded wonderful, moving, several other posters loved it too, and I wrote down the title......somewhere.
Now I find that I have a few weeks with not much to do and time to tackle some books I've been wanting to read, and I can't find the name! ( I've just ordered "Blue Trout and Black Truffles" , "Auberge of the Flowering Hearth", and Mimi Sheridan's new book. )
I've read most of the usual suspects - MFK Fisher, Laurie Colwin, Reichel, Steingarden, Trillin, etc. just finished "Toast". Any other recommendations are most welcome - I've got six weeks ahead of me to indulge!
