yet another rehersal dinner -- on the peninsula this time

Joy | Apr 26, 200501:44 PM     3

I need a recommendation for a good restaurant for a wedding rehersal dinner on a Friday night for about 20 people. Pretty adventureous eaters, so the food can be unusual but not too spicy. Here's the catch --almost all the wedding and related events feature some type of Asian food -- Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Burmese and Indian -- so we'd like this meal to NOT be Asian food. At the same time, we'd like it to be fairly cheap -- around $20/person total. Impossible? Perhaps. Oh, and we're looking for something in the Mountain View/Palo Alto area. I'm thinking that Mexican food might be in order here, but I need something a little more upscale than the local taqueria.
