We are having a bit of trouble finding a location for our rehearsal dinner. My in-laws asked that I forward on a number of suggestions for sites. I forwarded on 5: Grand Finale, Nada, Nicola's, J.R.'s Table, and Trios. They selected the Grand Finale.
The trouble is that after the fact, they mentioned to my fiance, privately, that they would like to keep the budget at $1000 (this is for 19 people). This is more than do-able if no one orders more than 1 glass of wine, BUT, as most of the guests are wine drinkers (w/ the exception of 3), it might be a bit tight (only allowing for 1 glass per person), particularly bc/ his parents don't want to ask the guests to do this.
My fiance is worried, though, that they will not be able to enjoy themselves if they are always watching/worried that people are ordering drinks, and adding to the bill. My fiance and I thought perhaps somewhere more casual, but affordable, might allow more flexibility (meaning, people could order drinks if they like without having to ask them to limit themselves to 1 glass). However, as his family really wants to pick a nice restaurant, with an inviting and attractive ambiance, I feel pressed.
We would LOVE any suggestions you might be able to offer. We are trying to avoid chain restaurants; looking for somewhere with good food and wine; but a place where this budget for this many people is more than do-able. Thanks again for your help!
