It's easy to overlook the Fez as a dining destination on a busy Friday, when most of the trade seems to be about drinking and mingling, but we snag a couple of bar seats and order a small feast: muhammara, the hummus and crudites plate (raw carrot, cucumber, red onion, scallions), lamb meatballs, and sanbusak. With good pita and crumby/cakey bread and a savory oil for spreading and dipping, this is a filling and healthy small-plate spread for two, for all of $22 (!).
We fatten the bill with expertly-made, oversized cocktails (straight-up Margaritas and Negronis), and remark on the care and attention we receive in a packed bar. We like the cool music, and are impressed with the staff's uniform good humor and friendliness. We're glad this place is as good as we remember it, and leave wondering why we haven't been back sooner.
