I'm going to be in Guadalajara, Jesus Maria and Tequila, Mexico for 12 days starting this Thursday. Any recommendations for great regional food, places to stay or things to do?
Thurs-Sun - No agenda, just wandering Guadalajara looking for good eats and relaxing (and maybe a little shopping, tequila drinking and mariachi listening)
Mon-Fri - Visit various distilleries in Jesus Maria & Tequila
Sat-Mon - No agenda, stay in Tequila if we really like it there or go back to Guadalajara.
I am a huge fan of Latin American cuisine. I grew up in Texas, eating Tex-Mex, as well as ranch and border Mexican. I've spent time in Mexico city and didn't eat a single meal I didn't love.
I've heard there's great food in Guadalajara but haven't gotten a good explanation of the regional differences so I'm really looking forward to this trip!
