Need recommendations, Hollywood, 9 people Fri night

tokyoastrogirl | Mar 10, 200301:19 PM     7

Fomer boss is coming from Japan and bringing 2 execs, would like to find a fun but not too crazy place to have dinner on Friday night for 9 people. They are staying on the Strip, but I'd rather eat somewhere off but not too far from there. Something not overly pricey, where we can have some conversation (Toi would be almost ideal if the food was better) and something LA-ish but not overbearingly intimidating. Sorry for the specific criteria, but I'm having a hard time coming up with something. I've never been to Asia De Cuba, but it seems expensive and loud? Any comments on that place would be welcomed as well. The reason why I would like it to be semi- trendy (as opposed to The House or Bastide- too homey, too formal) is that these guys are coming from Japan and would probably appreciate an LA vibe. No sushi or Japanese please, and thanks in advance.
