Hello fellow Chowhounders,
My wife and I will be in Tokyo for 10 days in mid May and I have been going through all the options under 15,000yen per person (lunch) and trying to narrow down before making reservations. It will be our fifth time in Tokyo and we wanted to have more sushi meals (5) on this trip. We will be staying in Shinjuku and happy to travel around.
CH and thesushigeek have been a wealth of information and so far I have narrowed it down to the below list (in no particular order):
1) Sushi Keita
2) Sushi Ryusuke
3) Ginza Iwa
4) Sushi Shin
5) Sushi Ichijou
6) Sushi Suzuki
7) Sushi Kanesaka
8) Shinbashi Shimizu
9) Ginza Onodera
11) Sushi Tsu
13) Sushi Sho
15) Sushi Taichi
17) Sushi Tokami
18) Bentenyama Miyako
19) Yoshino Sushi Honten
We have a reservation on one of the evenings for dinner at Manten Sushi, but need to decide on the other options and start making reservations soon.
From the list above, which would you recommend for our top 5? Whilst our budget is up to 15,000yen, we would also be keen to explore other options in the 8,000 - 10,000yen (or less) range too.
Interestingly, our hotel concierge tried to make a booking for us at Sushi Keita, but the restaurant has asked us to book directly with them rather than going through concierge. Tried calling them the last two nights but the call went straight to voicemail. Will try again, otherwise go on the waiting list of pocket concierge.
Thanks in advance.
