Reasonable Italian Restaurant Around NYU

NYCVisitor | Jun 1, 2005 02:19 PM

My family will be visiting NYU mid-afternoon on our trip, two adults and one child. We thought we would have dinner in the Village area that evening, $15 to $25 per person with a glass of wine if possible. Somewhere serving good pasta, chicken and veal, maybe some osso bucco. So we are looking for a good, reasonably priced italian restaurant within walking distance of NYU or a short taxi ride away.

Several places that sound promising are Ennio and Michael on La Guardia, Piccolo Angolo on Hudson and John's on 12th Street. Any thought on our choices, good or bad? Any other favorite restaurants you could recommend? Also do you have any recommendations for good gelato in the Village area? Thanks very much for your help.
