real hash browns in DC?

Suresh | Dec 21, 2003 09:42 PM

Can anyone recommend a place in DC that serves hash browns? I'm looking for real hash browns - grated potatoes cooked in a thin layer that holds together in discs/cakes, crispy golden brown on both sides.

There seem to be a few places like steak houses that serve authentic hash browns as a side with dinner, but i'm looking for diner/brunch food (eggs, bacon, waffles, breakfast sausage, pancakes) accompanied by hashbrowns.

Most of the diner/brunch places in DC seem to serve variations of home fries / breakfast potatoes, which typically aren't crispy/browned - they're usually just a mound of greasy chopped/sliced potatoes.
