Real Chinese in Chinatown

Todd | Jul 10, 2002 05:47 PM

Looking for some real Chinese in Chinatown, for a friend from Beijing (currently living in CA) that is visiting NYC for a few days. Took them to New Green Bo last time, and they were not impressed. Dumplings were described as OK, and the rest iffy. I know Chinatown fairly well, so I'm looking for new suggestions. Language is not an issue, since my friend is a native speaker. Also, they don't like Cantonese and are not a seafood fan. Open to dim sum and pork in particular. Any ideas? By the way, perhaps due to American Tastes, this friend thinks at least half of each menu she has seen in Chinatown is Cantonese in nature, including New Green Bo. Or if you have suggetions in Flushing, I can try that.
